When we built the Tarkin, the idea was to emulate the fantastic Green Russian fuzz circuit popular with guitarists, but even more so with bassists. The logical step was to build upon this and make it better, bigger, louder and bolder - a bass fuzz with huge low end and gnarly fuzz, but also note definition and retention of your attack on the strings.
The Mids switch from the standard Tarkin is replaced with an adjustable knob to fine-tune exactly how much you need in your sound, and we added a filtered clean blend designed to integrate with your fuzz in a more musical way than a full-range clean blend. The body and punch are retained, but more space is allowed up top for the fuzz to shine. Sustain, Level, and Tone are familiar, and do exactly what they say on the tin.
True bypass switching is handled by relay. All jacks are north-mounted to provide a footprint only slightly wider than a standard Tarkin once the jacks are inserted.
The end result is a versatile and huge-sounding bass fuzz designed with the gigging bass-player in mind.
